The truth is, however, that not a single body has been found, leading Dr. Lawrence and other distinguished psychiatrists to believe all of the alleged murders were merely fantasies in an elderly man's demented mind.
In Chapter 2, Gerry has matured to middle age as he continues his life of serial murder, as an elusive "Masked Strangler".
However as he approaches his golden years, his life of murder is at least temporarily suspended as he suffers a massive stroke while attempting to strangle his neighbor, a body builder.
